I hate GT cause others hate it! legit reason!

You can't have fillers when there isn't a manga that goes along side it in most cases (GT has no manga thus it couldn't have any fillers. There could be an episode where Goku fights a blue lion instead of the black star dragons or w.e and in the GTverse that'd be canon.)

Anyways my biggest issue is that they gave Gohan his SSJ back. They basically ignored the fact that Gohan COULD NOT go SSJ once he got his full potential unlocked. Also, Vegeta gains a mustache, Trunks dresses like a cowboy and Goten is nothing like he used to be. Vegeta's haircut, the introduction of another set of dragonballs and then another form of the original. Also, why would Trunks travel with Goku, when if I remember correctly they only had that My-dad-knows-you/I-know-your-dad relationship. It should've been Goten, but that son of a Chi-Chi was too busy trying to get a girl instead of saving the world.

Well, that's just the anime fandom's perception of filler. When you're dealing with other things, it's generally just something that fills up an episode and doesn't contribute to the overall plot. I've seen that definition used in reference to manga and American cartoons.

For instance, the episode of the new Thundercats cartoon where they have to win the Sword of Omens back from the Duelist would probably count as a filler episode, as it has little bearing on the overall plot other than making Lion-O a better fighter. It doesn't connect with the other stories we've seen so far about, say, Mumm-ra and the Book of Omens. It just fills up an episode.

I actually like GT, despite all the plot holes it had. I like to think of the series more of a POSSIBLE future for the characters, and only one branch of the tree. I do not like to think dragon ball z just ended after the buu. I was actually wondering the other day if I should buy the GT box set, which I plan on doing sometime in the near future.

srsly though... I find myself biased simply because I'm a huge toriyama fan. Even have my tobal no. 2 and chrono trigger roms on my HTC evo for psx4droid. I think he realized that eventually the character progression was to the the point that sneezing would wipe out galaxies and killed the dragonball manga series. Maybe he just got tired of drawnig the same things day in and day out. Can't say but GT wasn't his baby and as an artist who admires artists who are familiar intimately with their own work... the new series would have to prove itself in a big way to outdo priors. It did not, in my opinion and instead relied on a great percentile of cartoony fluff that would normally be considered "filler" episodes but of course this can't be right as it had no manga to stray from. The new SSJ forms were nice but the ongoing struggle between goku(through ignorant talent) and vegeta(through spite and will) were dashed against the rocks with bulma's required assistance. Something Toriyama would never allow.

Gohan, arguably the most powerful natural born being on the earth is simply forgotten to retirement and the nine to five. majuub gets smacked around a bit too much for being on equal terms with the top contenders. The series, in truth, smells badly of over marketing on toei's behalf and it seems to focus on the "bang/pop" of the key protagonist and pan as a comedic "you go girl" demographic hook. I realize Dragonball/DBZ was no super deep anime/manga(for that you should watch "Time of eve" or Ergo Proxy") but it was a pleasurable slumming for me simply because the artist is masterful and the character design as well as their back stories and relationships were well invested in. GT had none of that, flaunted old series character for the sake of nostalgia and establishing Pan's placement and did not give off a sense of goku's/vegeta's hard work in acquiring the smallest talent gain. It just gave me a bad taste overall.

That said, I do own the box set.

It's not canon and was executed in a poor way. It also created a lot of inconsistencies and plot holes. I'm also not a fan of the SSJ4 design, and every character got screwed out of anything because they built Son Goku up so much in it. Those are my reasons for hating it, anyway.

Dragon ball GT stink

Goten's character is exactly the same as he was at the end of Z. As for the designes, you will have to blame Toriyama for this.


Trunks in the end of Z respected Goku, if memory serves well.

It seems that hating has made you forgot some things. The original trio would be Goku, Goten & Trunks, because Goku was a kid because of those Dragon Balls and Goten & Trunks had gave up their training and they were the youngest. However, f@cking Pan got into the spaceship and took ff, before Goten got inside.

It's just not as good as Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z.
