So here's something I've been wondering about since the start of this game, when you die are you able to go to other world?

It could work like this, when you die your body it taken to the check in station in Otherworld. Over there, there would be two ways to get back to the living universe:
1. Do a small quest for King Yemma and he will grant you access back to the universe (the quest would be something like crossing snake way to deliver an item to King Kai. It would take about a minute to complete this.)

2. Ask Baba to take you back to the real world but there would be some kind of temporary stat penalty for taking this method (kind of like Resseruction Sickness in WoW)

What do you guys think?

i really dont think there is going to be any kind of other world activity if you lose a fight. in one of the videos (and i will try to look for it) it shows that when your health drops to zero you just use something like instant transmission and teleport back to your home area. so if you die in a quest you probably just get sent back to the begining. i think the best way to think about it is that you dont die but rather get taken close to death and have to retreat.

kind of like a knockout. in Suikoden it's like that too. 0 HP didn't equate to a kill. They were just "unable to fight" status, and after the battle they had 1 HP restored. But in DBO's case, yea it's simply a case of respawning at your hometown or where ever your home point is at.

The Other World/next dimension idea is authentic to Dragonball, however, people would find it to be a grind getting back to Earth dimension each time they lose all HP/LP. It sounds like they will fastforward the process so players don't have too much downtime before they get back to what they were planning on doing.

Since this is just the beta I'm sure when you die you just respawn and start over again. In the WoW beta it was the same way. But now when you die in WoW you are in the spirit world and have to find your corpse or talk to a spirit healer. I'm sure something along those lines will be set up in DBO. But, to make it a mini game or quest just to get your body back is a little much. I know that I would get turned off from the game if every time I die (good band by the way) I had to quest for 10 to 15 minutes just to pick up on my original quest.

Maybe, as Citrinate said before, when you start play until X lvl, you don't really die, but you go to your hometown. When you reach X lvl, you die and you go to Other World. But it would be extrange to die in a Time Travel Quest while Gohan SSJ2 vs Super Perfect Cell (after self destruction) or during Misty Gohan Training. You should go to hell of that time, and you could meet Goku and Gohan (with Ro Kaio Shin... and maybe unock all your power... nah)

well even though characters do get killed in the series if you have your character die i feel like it takes away from some of the dragonball ambiance in a way. because a huge part of that series was losing and then coming back stronger with no death required. and it also depends on if they are staying true to the anime or manga (manga i assume since korin is blue) because most of that otherworld story arc was just anime filler.

Well, I don't know about dying and going to Other World.

Maybe there can be a way to go without having to go through the usual way? Maybe you get invited by King Kai or something.

Either way, I hope they add it in. Maybe it doesn't have to be right in the game. Could be an expansion, where it could be a new play field for higher level players.

well that is why i suspect you will be using instant transmission to get there when ever you want. if not for that then there isnt much reason to have the yardrats play a part in the game.

Wait, Yardrats are in the game?

I guess that makes sense, since you can Instant Transmission to different places in the game.
