Ok,you got me on the army part, but your source on SSJ multiplying power can also describe my theory.
| |
No. Your theory describes that it gives someone a larger capacity to hold energy. It's like saying that if I had a glass that could go Super Saiyan, it would get 50x bigger, but the liquid in it would stay the same.
Also,a forced form shouldnt be considered a form.
| |
So, to make more comparisons, if I force myself to take a crap, it wouldn't be considered taking a crap?
Sure SSJ is sometimes forced like Goku going SSJ3,but its just a form to hold power,or in your case, allow it to multiply.
| |
I'm not sure what you mean here. :/
Rage makes Saiyans stronger. Its in their blood. How do you think Vegeta survived Pure Buus attacks, even the powerful ones?He was enraged.
| |
It's convenient for the plot for Vegeta to be enraged, and he probably has durability beyond that of a planet anyway. In the real world, rage doesn't make you stronger. Adrenaline might make humans slightly stronger, but that's not ki-based, and it usually derives more from fear than rage.
Rage also makes you a reckless idiot who can't fight even if they are hyped on adrenaline, especially if your opponent is a wise old kung fu master.
For Broly,I said limitless energy as long as you can maintain it.
| |
But he doesn't have limitless energy. That's the point I'm trying to get across.
Well,I have to admit my manga translation is quite poor, but I think the names are quite fitting for SS2 and 3.
| |
That doesn't mean they're correct.

Our two theorys are like the exact same thing the way theyre described.....this argument between us has gone on for too long....(Not the thread of course....)

To be honest i think Kizya has won this argument because honestly your theory doesnt even make sense to me and about the broly thing its true he doesnt have limitless power because you could basically say he can match the power of a newly experienced SSJ2 and like Kizya said, Rage doesnt make you stronger it just sends you on a wild rampage and think about it. I dont think gohan achieved SSJ with rage because after all he was training with his father to attain it.

It has been stated many times, super saiyan is achieved through a need, not a desire. Gohan became enraged, but you can infer that he is a character with anger issues. Hasn't that always been how Gohan achieved his power (in the beginning anyway, before Goku trained him)? Isn't this true about almost all saiyans though? Everyone who has achieved super saiyan (with an exception of future trunks) has done so through a defense mechanism, or a self realization:
Goku's False SSJ against Lord Slug, after a near death experience
Goku witnessing his friend's death while fighting against Frieza.
Vegeta's near death experience.
Gohan's fear of losing everyone, not to mention a kamehameha wave.
Future Gohan's loss of everyone, and fear of losing his last remaining family members.
Trunk's loss of Gohan, and fear of loss.

I use those fan terms because thats what I read in the manga.SS3 was called Ultra, and SS2 was called Acended.
| |
I have only read in the manga that SSJ2 is called Asended never heared or read of SSJ3 being called Ultra SSJ thats just made up I read goku call it Double asended SSJ but then he called it SSJ3 for the rest of the manga serius cause he prefered it

I believe the initial Super Saiyan form is achieved through a mixture of emotional content, and power. Once Super Saiyan has been mastered, I believe it's up to them to achieve their next forms through rigorous training and ascending their power to the next 'benchmark', for lack of a better word.

Not in the slightest. Because mine isn't a theory.
I dont think gohan achieved SSJ with rage because after all he was training with his father to attain it.
| |
Gohan had to conjure some fake emotional need, imagining his dad getting beaten up by Freeza or something to that effect. It wasn't a true situation of dire need, though.
It has been stated many times, super saiyan is achieved through a need, not a desire.
| |

So Vegeta need to become a Super Saiyan? He needs to become a Super Saiyan as much as needed that new figure of Unicron. It's not an absolute necessity to keep in living, but we both really, really wanted it and went way out of ways to get it.
Gohan became enraged, but you can infer that he is a character with anger issues.
| |

This made me laugh. XD Has Gohan tried seeing an anger-management specialist yet?
Hasn't that always been how Gohan achieved his power (in the beginning anyway, before Goku trained him)? Isn't this true about almost all saiyans though? Everyone who has achieved super saiyan (with an exception of future trunks) has done so through a defense mechanism, or a self realization:

And that's where I cut you off. He never achieves Super Saiyan after a near-death experience. He achieves it through training.
Gohan's fear of losing everyone, not to mention a kamehameha wave.
| |
Well, Gohan didn't have a dire need when he was training in the room of Spirit and Time. That's why he had to imagine something to get that stimulation.
Trunk's loss of Gohan, and fear of loss.
| |
Except he was a Super Saiyan before that in the manga.
This also doesn't explain how Trunks and Goten can simply go Super Saiyan willy-nilly.

Well, you read wrong. It's never called that in the manga. Ever.
I believe the initial Super Saiyan form is achieved through a mixture of emotional content, and power.

I don't think it has anything to do with power. After all, the little twits in Dragon Ball Online can go Super Saiyan and they're certainly not all that strong in the grand scheme of things.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Vegeta on the brink of death when faced with the mother of meteors? And, wasn't it the only way he'd survive getting off of that planet alive? I even recall him saying he didn't care about reaching super saiyan or training anymore. Sounds like he was more determined to live. However, I haven't seen this in a while. So, I don't know.
And, the manga may have done things differently, but I haven't read that far back.
And, Trunks wasn't ever explained, so that's where I have no excuse. But, Goten was threatened by chichi. He wasn't near death, but I did say a defense mechanism, and he was frightened to the point of transformation. And, I feel that the genes of their parents have something to do with it.
But, one theory is, behind the scenes, Goten could have taught Trunks. And, Trunk just may have been a natural.

Hmmm Goten teaching Trunks to become a super sayain? Im not really sure that is possible but your theoryu of him being a natural is clearly agreed on by me (Trunks fangirl)
