i dont know if somebody said this or not but i think its more logical that they are doing this to keep bots out rather than keeping foreigners out since we arent doing anything harmful to the game by playing. if the check point is designed for bots then i doubt they will lift it.

and I think they already mentioned in one of the notices that they will try to stop hacked accounts from playing so the authentication is probably for that.

On a different subject, I will get my account authenticated by my Korean friend soon. But there is one thing I need to know, If I get a Korean phone and then posted my number on the forums, can everyone use the number to authenticate or only one of you?

(because I can get a Korean phone if stop being lazy, I'll let you guys authenticate your accounts using my number if its possible.)

I can try to get the phone (uncle is pilot so he can get it, or I can ask my brother's gf who is korean to get it) but only if I know that it will allow everyone to authenticate or not, I don't want to waste my money.
