I LOVE healing, but making the ability race-specific is a major limitation, but I understand they are doing it for the lore of Dragon Ball. Namekians are the only race that can heal.

thats not true. buu showed the capacity to revive the dead and goku was able to heal frieza after their fight on namek.

I wouldn't exactly call that actually healing. More like an energy boost. Goku was sharing his ki to give Frieza energy to leave the planet. It wasn't medicinal in any kind of way. As far as Buu, I've never witnessed that, so I can't say much about it.
