Yeah, the ship he was in was originally made from the ship he came in as a baby, and those things survive planet explosions.

oh, and idiot moment. Goku sensing Buu's PW and telling vegeta its time to stop fighting and go help as if it was a practice match even though vegeta specificly said it was Goku's time to be destroyed. Goku powers down a little, turns around and vegeta knocks him out.

I thought Dr. Brief said that the ship was practically demolished and he could only salvage a few key parts like the engine etc etc. So the hull is built from scratch. In fact it couldn't even withstand a little meteor hitting it. There's no way it can handle Goku's Kamehameha, let alone a planet exploding.
