Cit, I suggest you get a chat box. I'm sure you know what im talking about, the little chat box that is located at the bottom of the forum.
It's a great idea because it'll stop off topic chatting, and allows people to get quick answers to short questions without having to create a new thread.
I've heard XAT chatboxes are great(xat.com), but unfortunately i have no idea how to install one into a forum.
its a nice idea but i see it causing trouble in the way that people will stop posting threads for answers to questions so the same question will be asked multiple times since there will not be a place on the forum to look up the answer. it might just hold back the progression of the forum.
Yea, I thought of the possibility of that while i was creating the thread, it is a downfall to the chatbox, but I figured people wont ask too many questions and more likely type in random things like hi and bye.
I think it should be up for at least a little while to see what the users will use it for before the final confirmation of a chatbox, kind of like a beta

This way they wont make a topic for it and will be even lazier and ask it in the chatbox :D

We don't really have much of a problem with that yet.
Personally, I think chatboxes look really unprofessional and they tend to decrease forum activity. I've ran forums in the past where we had them and users ended up talking on there instead of the forums.
